Keeping The San Francisco Jazz Band Tradition Alive
The Local Edition Jazz Orchestra is keeping the Big Band tradition alive with weekly live performances at Local Edition in San Francisco, CA. With a large library of music to pull from, the band authentically performs everything from traditional 1940's dance music through contemporary and modern jazz. Local Edition Jazz Orchestra regularly features internationally known guest artists and has a reputation for providing the highest quality of jazz in town.
A Who's Who of Players
Members of the Local Edition Jazz Orchestra play at the highest level of the jazz art form and have performed with Seal, Gladys Knight, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Zac Brown, Muse, Train, Bob Weir, Herbie Hancock, Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughn, San Francisco Symphony.... just to name a few.
Rightsizing The Band
The Local Edition Jazz Orchestra performs weekly as a 9-person jazz band nonet and regularly scales up to a full sized 16-person jazz big band on special occasions. So far, in 2022, the Local Edition Jazz Orchestra has backed up vocalists Kurt Elling and Billy Valentine, and sax legend Tom Scott.
